Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect at my first visit?
On your first visit you will meet with the therapist one on one to discuss your condition. The therapist will evaluate you and develop an individual treatment plan for your specific injury. This treatment plan is based both on clinical findings and the information you and your doctor have provided to the therapist. After developing your treatment plan the therapist will typically administer the first treatment that day.
What do I need to bring to my first visit?
You will need the prescription from your doctor, your insurance cards and a photo I.D. Additionally, you can print off our paperwork under the “New Patient Information” tab and bring the completed forms with to your first appointment.
How long do appointments usually take?
The initial evaluation takes about an hour to complete. For certain injuries or those with multiple injuries this could take longer. Each subsequent visit after the initial evaluation will take between 30 minutes and 1 hour depending on the condition we are treating.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Comfortable and loose clothing is ideal. Whatever you wear should be something that allows the therapist to have easy access to the affected area. We do offer gowns and private changing areas if necessary.
What is copay/coinsurance for physical therapy?
Unfortunately, there is no set patient cost for physical therapy. The patient portion due is based upon your individual insurance contract. At your initial visit our friendly office staff will explain your particular insurance benefits in full detail and answer any questions you have.
What if I don’t have health insurance?
Therapy and Sports Center offers affordable self pay options for those without insurance. These rates are based on the injury or condition being treated and as such vary from case to case. For more information please call one of four convenient Tampa Bay locations.
